The Indomitable Freedom Quest: Honoring America’s Sacred Trust
A friend recently asked me to help him create a website for a book that he’s been editing and promoting. The book was recently released for Presidents Day and, when compared to the climate surrounding this campaign season 2016, it is a blessing.
Politics is a topic that I’ve decided to rarely comment on in this blog. I recognize that at any given time in our lives the events occurring in the political world can have an influence on our personal lives ~ sometimes positive and sometimes negative. I’ve come to believe that if we hold true to our individual values and convictions, in the end no matter what’s happening in the larger world of politics, we’ll make it through. The same is true for our country ~ The United States of America.
“We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”
Even though the warring political parties differ on what this one sentence means, it’s the framework of what has helped our country endure. It’s the greatest mission statement and centering force between these great divides that threaten to bring us down.
It all brings me full circle to the realization that the attitude of gratitude doesn’t just apply to each of us as individuals. It applies to us collectively as conservative. liberal or moderate; democrat, republican or independent; left, right or Me in the Middle ;).
We are truly blessed! ♥
