My Life Is My Masterpiece ~ Lessons Learned
My theme ~ Lessons Learned. I’ll be posting a word that begins with each letter of the alphabet that fits my theme. This blog/website has become one way to share about myself to my children, my grandchildren and my extended family who are scattered all over the country and the world. Hopefully, anyone who reads this will be in some way blessed by my throwing my words out onto the World Wide Web and into the Universe.
My About Page gives me the focus so that, as I age, I don’t forget what I worked so hard to learn. It’s going to be fun and challenging! I hope you’ll stick with me as I strive to meet my goal!!

By bringing nature into our lives, we invite humility.

One of the blogs I follow ~ Walking My Path: Mindful Wanderings In Nature ~ posted this beautiful reminder of the blessings that come to us through nature. I wanted to include it in my post today (Here)

I was raised in a family that highly valued nature and the preservation of the natural environment. I can remember following my older brother around as he waded barefoot in creeks and streams looking for fish, frogs and tadpoles. Nature has always been a source of escape and wonder for me. It wasn’t until I became an adult, faced with the challenges that face us as adults, that I truly came to appreciate the centering quality of seeking nature as a refuge. Whenever life’s stresses would overwhelm me, I’d head over to the nearest county park and hiking trail. There was something meditative about mindfully walking along, at a steady pace, and allowing my thoughts to come and go.

When you see how nature adapts to new environmental changes you recognize that we human beings have a responsibility to approach change in our own life and in our world in a life-giving and protective way.

I am fortunate to live in a city with a beautiful river running through. I enjoy running by the river and taking in nature. The river, the birds, the trees all help me to relax. Love the first quote and also the photo of your brother and you in your childhood – great memories.

Sounds like a wonderful place to live Sue! I went to hear Richard Louv speak. He wrote the book ‘Last Child in the Woods’. Very inspiring! And I treasure that photo of my brother and me. ❤

It is lovely Mary Lou. I’m originally from Sydney which has a gorgeous harbour but is much larger than Brisbane. Brisbane has a much more relaxed style and is based around the river. I’m sure you do treasure the photo. I lost my brother two years ago and at the time I found photos of him and I that I had completely forgotten about. Enjoy your weekend and hope to see you on Wednesday for #MLSTL. xx
