Walking has been my go-to outlet down through the years. Whether for exercise, weight-loss, stress-release or just plain relaxation, walking has always served me well.
So, when OLLI (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute) with the University of Virginia offered the Fall Course ~ The World of Walking ~, I was totally on-board. What could this instructor, Dan Kulund, possibly introduce us to about ‘Walking’ that would fill up a six-week, hour and half weekly class on The World of Walking. Over the next few weeks I hope to bring you up-to-date on what we cover. It’ll be a way for me to reinforce what we’ve learned and pass it on to you.

Wow, all that for walking but I can understand in that now my leg has had bone removed from it for making me a new jaw I need to take care on sudden pivot moves. I do walk as much as I can through the day but also taking it a pace to observe what is around me in nature as well.

Sounds like you’re doing your best with what you’ve got Denyse! 🙂 Right now I’m not fully participating in the walking parts of the class. I have a medical procedure coming up that I’m hoping will help me get back to my normal level of exercise. Until then, I’m enjoying the other interesting parts that the instructor is teaching. And blogging about it! 😉

Yes, we do walk for a portion of the class. He showed us how to use props (stairs, hand rails, park benches) for doing an exercise along the way. 🙂

The instructor’s enthusiasm is great! He even got us out in the rain walking this time around! 😀

Wow he must be good to get everyone out in the rain! I don’t mind the rain as long as there is a nice hot shower at the end 🙂
