“Record Store Day is an annual event inaugurated in 2008 and held on one Saturday every April and every “Black Friday” in November to “celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store“. The day brings together fans, artists, and thousands of independent record stores across the world.[1] A number of records are pressed specifically for Record Store Day, with a list of releases for each country, and are only distributed to shops participating in the event. The event began in the United States and remains headquartered there. Record Store Day has official international organizers in the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Australia, Spain and Poland(since 2019)” (Wikipedia)
Record Store Day 2019
This past November 2018 I took part in the Nibvember 2018 Challenge. Day 27 prompt was Lettering and I came up with the design below. It’s easy to see where my inspiration came from as I’d participated in the A to Z Challenge in 2016. So, feeling the call to try once again for A To Z Challenge 2019, I decided to sign up for this years using this design as my inspiration.

I like the A to Z image you created!
And wow, record stores…! They are nearly extinct, it seems. I used to love thumbing through albums. Cover art was different (or was it? perhaps that’s nostalgia speaking) when it was displayed on actual album covers; the artwork was sometimes what drew me to bands I’d otherwise not have known. 🙂

My son is the same! He’s an artist so I’m sure he’d agree with you about the cover art. Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

I LOVED RECORD STORES! There are some vintage ones . High fidelity is one of my favorite Nick Hornby books and the movie is not bad. I prefer the British setting.
