This past November 2018 I took part in the Nibvember 2018 Challenge. Day 27 prompt was Lettering and I came up with the design below. It’s easy to see where my inspiration came from as I’d participated in the A to Z Challenge Lessons Learned in 2016. So, feeling the call to try once again for A To Z Challenge 2019, I decided to sign up for this years using this design as my inspiration.

I love your lettering, Mary Lou. Sketching (or any visual arts) is not my strong point, so I always admire it in others.

I grew up in the D.C. area and loved visiting all the monuments and museums. When I visited Monticello, near Richmond ,Virginia I was shocked by double walls so the slaves could serve, without being seen. I know all successful people had slaves then, but a man who was so gifted and wrote …” When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.” Also treated slaves as if not human beings.
As a student in France I rented a room from a titled family and their ancestor a Count De Fleuriue hosted Jefferson in France.
I have always found Mr. Jefferson as fascinating as he is controversial, but it is one historical figure I would be curious to meet, I may however be too brown to have ever sat at his table.

Well said Maria! ❤ He was definitely a man of contradictions. I like that he thought outside of the box and was a visionary. Inspired but not perfect man.
